Herbs for Horses

Herbs for Horses

Why herbs?

Horses are herbivores that thrive on an all-natural, plant based diet that is chemical free and non-toxic. During their natural grazing behavior, horses would ingest a wide variety of herbs, barks and plants. Horses were foragers and ran wild – meaning their diet was full of minerals, vitamins and constituents that kept them in tip top health, naturally. Today, horses graze in pristine pastures and spend large amounts of time in their stall, which means their diet lacks the variety of herbal plants they used to get on a regular basis. These environments make it difficult for horses to meet their nutritional needs.

Feeding high-quality herbs to herbivorous horses offers the greatest benefit to the equine athlete. Herbs support overall wellness and can be added to horse feed. As a horse owner, providing your horse with a happy, healthy environment is essential.
