Ingredients
- Homemade Hot Honey:
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1½ teaspoons Frontier Co-op® Crushed Red Chili Peppers
- 1/4 teaspoon Frontier Co-op® Korintje Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- Crostini:
- 1 baguette, cut into 24 slices
- Olive oil, to taste
- Frontier Co-op® Himalayan Pink Salt, to taste
- 8 ounces brie cheese, cut into 24 pieces
- 12 slices prosciutto, cut in half
- 1 apple, cut into 24 slices
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Make the hot honey: Into a small saucepan over medium heat, add honey, red chili peppers and cinnamon. Bring to a gentle simmer for 2 minutes, then remove from heat and stir in apple cider vinegar. Let cool to room temperature, then strain out chili peppers. Let cool completely before using.
- Meanwhile, on a baking sheet, arrange baguette slices and lightly drizzle with olive oil and season with salt.
- Bake for 5 minutes; remove from oven, top with brie slices and bake for another 5 to 6 minutes, until cheese is melty. Top with a slice of prosciutto, then an apple slice.
- Drizzle with hot honey just before serving. Enjoy!
- For a nice pop of color to finish the presentation, lightly sprinkle thyme leaves on just before serving.
