Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 1/4 cup Frontier Co-opĀ® Premium Nutritional Yeast, plus more for topping
- 2 teaspoons Frontier Co-opĀ® Organic, Fairtrade Cane Sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon Frontier Co-opĀ® Sea Salt or Gray Sea Salt
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into cubes and softened
- 1/4 cup water
- Frontier Co-opĀ® Sel Gris (Tamise/Celtic salt) or Kosher Flake Salt, for topping
Directions
- Into a food processor, add flour, nutritional yeast, sugar and salt, and pulse to combine.
- Add butter and pulse until incorporated. Scrape down bowl, add water and continue mixing until dough sticks together when pressed between your fingers.
- On a flat surface, shape into a rectangle. Wrap in plastic wrap and let rest at room temp for about 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
- After dough has rested, flour a surface and roll dough into a very thin rectangle, about 1/8-inch thick. Cut into 1- to 1 1/2-inch squares, then dock with a fork.
- Transfer squares to sheet pan, placing them with a bit of space between each one. Crush about 1 tablespoon of nutritional yeast between your fingers and sprinkle on crackers, then sprinkle with Celtic or flake salt.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until crackers start to brown slightly around the edges. If rolled thicker, they may take a bit longer. Let cool completely before enjoying.
