Ingredients
- Approximately 40 saltine crackers
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon Frontier Co-op® Regenerative Organic Certified® Pure Madagascar Vanilla Extract
- 1 teaspoon Frontier Co-op® Regenerative Organic Certified® Ceylon Cinnamon
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans
- Optional: Frontier Co-op® Kosher Flake or Fleur de Sel salt, for topping
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees and line a sheet pan with parchment paper, a silicone baking mat, or aluminum foil.
- Lay out saltines in an even layer, fully lining pan.
- In a saucepan, combine butter and light brown sugar over medium heat. Whisk well and bring to a boil. Once boiling, cook for 3 minutes, whisking constantly, until thickened. Whisk in vanilla extract and cinnamon.
- Pour caramel over crackers and use a spatula to spread in an even layer. Place in oven and bake for 5 minutes.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over top, then return to oven and bake for 2 minutes.
- Remove from oven and use a spatula to spread out melted chocolate. Sprinkle chopped pecans and salt to taste, and let cool completely until set. Chop into smaller pieces or break up with your hands. Enjoy!
- Flaky salts like kosher flake and fleur de sel adhere best and look great!
