The secret to a strawberry milkshake that can legitimately stand-in as breakfast? Creamy, low-fat Greek yogurt, frozen banana, roasted strawberries, and real vanilla bean paste. Add a scoop of almond butter for a little extra staying power!

Ingredients

  • For the roasted strawberries:

1 pound fresh strawberries, cleaned, hulled and sliced

    1 teaspoon coconut sugar

    ½ teaspoon ground ginger

    ⅛ teaspoon salt

    For the milkshakes:

    1 cup roasted strawberries

1 banana, frozen and cut in half

1 cup milk of choice (unsweetened)

    ½ cup plain Greek yogurt

1 tablespoon Karamelize.me Organic Almond Butter

1 teaspoon Simply Organic Vanilla Bean Paste

Directions

    For the roasted strawberries:

    1.    Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

    2.    In a shallow baking dish, sprinkle sugar, ginger and salt over the strawberries. Toss to coat.

    3.    Roast in preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, stirring after 20 minutes. Strawberries will be soft and juices will have released into the dish.

    4.    Remove from oven, stir and transfer to a dish to cool. Refrigerate for at least one hour and up to one week.

    For the milkshakes:

In a blender, combine ingredients and blend well. Pour into two glasses to serve.
