AYÉYA
AYÉYA, meaning "life in balance," was founded in 2003 by Olowo-n’djo “Olo,” whose vision began in his homeland of Togo, West Africa. His goal was not just to create skincare and haircare products but to drive positive change in his community. With a wealth of insights into customer needs, Olo launched Alaffia, a socially conscious brand that has connected with over 302,728 families worldwide.
Inspired by this success, AYÉYA aims to empower communities while celebrating cultural heritage. Their journey began in Bolgatanga, Ghana, where we partnered with cooperatives across 12 villages, engaging over 5,000 female artisans. By sourcing ancestral ingredients and materials, we support local economies and preserve traditional craftsmanship.

Life in Balance
AYÉYA’s name means “Life in Balance” - a reflection of the brand’s respect for farmers, families, and culture. The team works with growers across regions to provide consistent demand, and long-term development opportunities. With a focus on capacity building, training, and access to global markets, AYÉYA supports a better future for rural farming communities by investing in people, not just products.
AYÉYA believes that ethical sourcing can create lasting change. By building direct trade relationships and sharing profits with farmers, the brand fosters supply chains that are both transparent and resilient. Their sesame seeds are grown using natural, low-impact practices that respect the land and require no chemical inputs - supporting not only soil health but also the health of the communities who depend on it. They are committed to the transformation of our ingredients and the well-being of the communities behind them. AYÉYA is here to elevate your daily rituals, enrich lives, and promotes joy and harmony -their vision of life in balance.
