This dried berry comes from the Sapindus Mukorrosi tree, found in tropical and sub-tropical areas of Nepal. These berries have been used for centuries as a soap: When agitated, the they produce Saponin, which acts as a natural cleanser.

Directions
Instructions for Standard or HE Washers
- Place four to five soap nuts in the reusable cloth bag, tie closed.
- Place bag in washer and run the laundry cycle. Soap Nuts can be used as a detergent, fabric softener or both.
- When the cycle is complete, set soap nuts aside to dry or use again in the next load without drying.
- Re-use soap nuts up to 10 times. When soap nuts are brittle or the shell is paper thin, replace with new soap nuts.
For heavily soiled loads, fill, then submerge cloth bag in hot water. Allow to soak for 10 minutes, then add the mixture and cloth bag to your wash.
To hand-wash laundry using soap nuts, place three to four soap nuts in the cloth bag and add the bag to a cup of hot water. Allow the bag to soak for 10 minutes, then add liquid to your sink or wash bucket.
