Dolce means sweet in Italian. This sweet, vegan cinnamon chocolate hazelnut sipping liqueur is an adult drink and dessert in one. Sip cold, pour over ice, add a shot or two to your espresso or even pour over some ice cream. The slightest sprinkling of smoked salt gives it that sweet and salty vibe. It makes an indulgent end to a perfect Italian meal or make several batches and give as gifts.
Ingredients
-
1 cup of Eliot’s hazelnut spread
1 1/2 cups of macadamia milk or your favorite plant based milk
3/4 cup of light canned coconut milk
1/4 cup or to taste of Wholesome organic sugar
1.5 teaspoons or to taste of Simply Organic or Frontier Co-op ground cinnamon
1/2 cup or to taste of vodka or play around with another favorite spirit
Frontier Co-op smoked sea salt for sprinkling
Frontier Co-op cinnamon sticks for stirring/garnish
Cocktail glass rim
Bob’s Red Mill hazelnut flour
Directions
1. Combine the hazelnut spread, milks, sugar, ground cinnamon in a saucepan on low and whisk until combined and sugar has dissolved.
2. Remove from the heat and let it cool before adding in the vodka to taste.
3. Place in a container and let it sit in the fridge 2-3 days.
4. When you are ready to serve, dunk the rim of the cocktail glass into some more melted hazelnut spread or into the liqueur and then dunk the rim into the hazelnut flour (you can also lightly toast the flour, it’s good either way).
5. Divide the liqueur evenly into cocktail glasses, sprinkle with a little smoked sea salt and a cinnamon stick to stir. You can also pour over ice, add to espresso or coffee or pour over ice cream.
